Kia ora whanau,
it is very important for our tamariki to attend our school everyday as this will help them to meet national standards. Students will be working hard to succeed in all curriculum areas through specialized programmes that have been developed to cater to their needs and interests.

Teachers message
To our lovely parents, its important for our students to attend kura everyday unless they are sick or are attending a tangi, etc. Our boys will learn something new everyday and will benefit from being in class. My focus is to raise student achievement in all curriculum areas and to push our students to achieve their goals.
Te ruma o Kotuku
Kia ora and welcome to Kotuku's blog for 2016. We are going to have an exceptional year and I look forward to working with your tamariki this year.
The manu we follow is Kotuku.
He Kotuku Rerenga Tahi" was inspired by the legend of Kupe, the great Polynesian navigator and expresses universal themes of journeys, dynamic life and peace. Kupe is said to have journeyed from Hawaiiki, the ancestral homeland of Maori, overcoming many severe obstacles at sea, to become the first person to discover Aotearoa. "He kotuku rerenga tahi" is a whakatauki or proverb, which means "a white heron's flight is seen but once". It is used to indicate a very special and rare event and in this case refers to the arrival of Kupe and his waka Matawhaorua.
